We Solve Murders
Review:
With targets on their back, they must escape after discovering the murders of their closest allies. Amy is a bodyguard, protecting Rosie on a private island, when they realise that the foe is nearby from Francois Loubet, a disguise, who nobody knows who is behind the name.
After Amy calls for help from Steve, her father-in-law, a team has formed to escape and figure out who this Francois Loubet is and why they are murdering these people.
This was a difficult story to carry on. I found it a pretty underwhelming read, which felt disappointing. I couldn’t get into the book until the near end. Finding out who Francois Loubet felt like a boring reveal alongside the hitman's intention. I was quite shocked about it, but it didn’t make any sense to me. I felt the plot was jumping here and there, so I was confused half the time.
However, one thing I enjoyed in particular was the conversations. Some authors struggle to achieve this, but the conversations felt natural and real, as I would have thought Steve would talk. Some were comedic, and some were fun. As well, the character designs were fun, especially for Bonnie’s fate and the main three.
The idea of ChatGPT in the book was intriguing and something I never had thought about. I quite liked the disguise, and it shows the growth A.I has evolved industries and the world for the worse.
Overall, I felt disappointed with this book. I’m saddened that this is my reaction to an Osman book, but I struggled to pick this book up. Somehow I have finished it. The story fell flat, and I simply didn’t enjoy the plot.
